How Can We Help?
-
Targeting speech sound production to improve clarity and pronunciation. We work with children to improve articulation or phonological impairments, motor speech disorders or childhood apraxia of speech.
-
Receptive, expressive and pragmatic language difficulties can have impact in all areas of communication and learning as we need these skills to comprehend the world around us, express or wants, needs and desires and interact socially with the world around us. Language therapy can help by targeting specific areas of difficulty and bolstering those skills.
-
Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) is a way of communicating other than speaking: this can include gesturing, writing, picture communication, handheld devices with programmed messages, speech generating devices (SGD), etc. We can support your child’s access to communication by finding the right individualized system, navigating funding or evaluation to obtain SGDs and/or supporting the use of your child’s current system.
*Research shows that use of speech generating devices are successful for both those who don’t utilize speech and those who are minimally verbal without hindering speech development.

Stuttering is a speech disorder that causes interruptions in the flow (fluency) of someone’s speech. Speech therapy can support children and young adults who stutter to find the strategies that work for them to increase their fluency and bring joy and confidence to speaking. It can address the social and emotional components of stuttering so the individual can understand and process their unique communication style and reduce any negative feelings they may associate with speaking.
Phone consultations (~15-20 mins) are FREE and an opportunity to discuss current concerns and needs before any service is provided. The time to decide if The Talk Stop, LLC is the place for you and your child.
